May 7/06 High Country Flyers Fun Fly
Author: Bill Cousins

High Country Flyers had their spring Fun Fly on May 7, 2006. It started at 10:00 am and ended around 3:00 with about 25 people there. Although the sun was shining it was still cool and a very strong wind that blew most of the day. Even with the wind blowing as it was, there were a few pilots that braved the strong winds. There was hambergers and pop, and to warm up there was the club house. The runway and field are looking good although it's high in elevation so the grass is just starting to green up. We are having a lot of wind this year in Kamloops which makes for frustrating times. Lester's Hobbies was there and a person could stock up with some much needed parts. He is great to have around and locally we should support him in any way possible. I think everybody there enjoyed themselves. I think if it was better weather { wind wise } there would have been a lot more show up. It is a very nice location and the people there are always ready to talk about planes or what was built through the winter.

There were three flyers from 100 Mile House. These guys always enjoy coming out to the Kamloops events.
